Latin American Network for Gender-based Strategic Litigation (ReLeG)

Who We Are

The Latin American Network for Gender-based Strategic Litigation (ReLeG) brings together litigators, academics, legal practitioners, and activists committed to ending gender-based violence and promoting gender equality in Latin America*.

ReLeG monitors, documents and promotes strategic litigation initiatives in gender-related issues. It also contributes to legal education with gender and intersectional perspectives and collaborates in the design of public policies and legal reforms to guarantee gender equality and access to justice. Through the dissemination of good practices at the local, regional and international levels, academic research, and the exchange of expertise, ReLeG strives for equal, just, and inclusive societies free from gender-based violence.

ReLeG appreciates the support of the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR). We are particularly grateful for the technical advice provided by Georgina Mendoza and Helena Rodriguez from the Women’s Rights and Gender Section for the establishment of ReLeG**.
